you are two weeks old today and we celebrated (well, you did) by drinking way too much milk and projectile vomiting. good times. i am hoping you will figure out soon that 2 bottles in a row is never a good idea, but i suspect you get the "i want it all and i want it now" gene from me.
last evening, your auntie sydney came to see you with her mother. she was there at your birth and was very valuable during our laboring process. sydney is the 16 yr old daughter of a good friend of jen's and mine who has interest in midwifery and obstetrics who asked if she could be apart of your birthing process by going to our bradley classes and being with us during early labor at home. we did not think she would be able to be with us for the actually birth since i was only allowed to bring 3 people to the hospital, but lucky for her your auntie heidi slept through my 5:30 am "we gots to get to the hospital NOW" call and sydney ended up being a major player in the big event. in fact, she kept me hydrated! she was the official "force becky to drink at least 8ozs every hour" girl, and drink i did! she also held my right leg while you made your grand appearance.
while sydney was here last night she proclaimed that she wanted to open a birthing center since we have none in this area. it brought tears to my eyes to see this beautiful, young budding natural/gentle birthing advocate. future mamas owe a big thank you to heidi for oversleeping!!
now, back to you darling one. it's been a sweet week getting to know you and your little ways. you are truly a good baby and hardly ever fuss. i couldn't ask for a happier baby, but i am keeping my fingers crossed and preparing for colic if you decide you want to scream for hours on end in the upcoming months.
only thing new to report is that your belly button fell off two days ago. it was a little oozy and bloody, nothing a good sprinkling of goldenseal didn't fix right up.
right now you are downstairs getting your little ears talked off by some friends of the family. they were yaking so much i had to break away for a little reprieve. sorry to leave you hanging little dude, i'll make it up to you later.
